How long has Freedom Boat Club been in business?

Freedom Boat Club has been in business since 1989. We’re the world’s largest and oldest members-only boat club and we’re expanding rapidly.

How do I qualify to be a member?

Membership is open to boaters of any skill level, 21 years of age and older. Whether you’ve never boated before, or you’ve boated for years, Freedom Boat Club welcomes you as a member.

Who can I bring with me?

As long as a member is present, you can bring friends, family, guests, children, colleagues, or even your favorite pet (pets are allowed on specific models – listed in reservation system).

What type of boats are available?

Many styles and makes are available. We have a variety of boat types, Center Console, Speedboat, Pontoon Boats, Fishing, and Cuddy Cabins.  Click here to see the fleet

What would be my “Home Ports”?

How many times can I go boating per year?

Boat usage is unlimited at your home location. Plus access to “Reciprocal” locations around the world.

What should I expect when I arrive?

Your hassle-free boating experience begins the moment you arrive at the dock. Our team of dockmasters will help you get your belongings loaded onto the boat, quickly ensure you have everything you need for a great day out on the water, and you are off on your adventure!

Upon your return, our team again will be there to greet you and assist you off the vessel. You simply turn in your keys and pay only for the fuel used that day, which is tracked by our fuel flow meters. That’s it! You are free to go about your day’s activities. No mess, no fuss, no work! Our team handles all of the cleaning and maintenance of the boat and engine, allowing you to spend 100% of your time on the water with family and friends.

Can I use boats at all Freedom Boat Club locations?

Yes, at over 400 locations around the U.S., Canada and Europe. Numerous locations in the Pacific Northwest  Click here for the list

How does reciprocal work?

Book directly through the reservation system, and access any reciprocal location up to four times per year per location.

Do you rent your boats?

Never. This is a private fleet. We do not rent any of the boats in our fleet. This allows us to better maintain the condition of our boats and ensures the highest possible level of fleet availability to our members.

What about fueling?

Your boat will always be waiting with a tank of gas. Additional fuel is available at or near each marina.

What equipment is aboard?

All boats have required equipment (per country guidance) including life jackets, a fire extinguisher, sound equipment, and flares. Boats are checked for this equipment by both the dock staff and member prior to departure. We recommend you bring your own floatation device for young children to insure proper fit.

Do you offer training and classes?

Freedom Boat Club is a major proponent of boater education and safety. Freedom Boat Club Portland/Camas provides FREE training to our local members regarding the safe use and operation of your ‘home club’ fleet. This generally includes classroom and on-water training activities. Members must complete this training course before they can start reserving boats.

What about Insurance?

Watercraft liability and physical damage is included in your membership. As a FBC member, you are covered up to $1,000,000 for claims made against you by third parties. You are responsible for the $2,500 USD Watercraft Liability and Physical Damage deductibles per occurrence.

Due to member demand, we offer an optional Peace of Mind Program. For $500 annually, you get towing insurance and your exposure of the $2,500 USD will be lowered..
